Keanu Reeves was in Houston for a recent concert with his band, Dogstar, on Sept. 25, when a 9-year-old boy waiting outside his venue asked Reeves if he had some time to play catch. Watch the interaction between the boy and the movie star, posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, on Sept. 26.

Later, when interviewed by television station KHOU, reporters spoke to the boy’s grandma, who says she has a hobby of “fishing” for famous people. She brought her grandkids along on her recent venture to wait for Reeves outside his concert.

Her grandsons, Caleb, 11, and Elijah, 9, didn’t recognize Reeves at first, and Caleb told KHOU reporters, “He came out, and I didn’t expect his hair to be a little white. I knew his hair was long, but I didn’t expect it to be white.”

Once they had gotten his signature, Elijah asked if he would play catch with him. Reeves responded, “Yeah come on, let’s go.” The two tossed the football for about 30 seconds outside the concert venue.

Later, Elijah told reporters, “I was really nervous because I was playing catch with a famous superstar.”
