Post Malone drew a lot of attention for his surprise appearance during Beyonce’s halftime show for the Christmas Day NFL game between the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens.
During the show, Malone and Beyonce — who is from Houston — performed “Levii’s Jeans,” the pair’s collaboration on Beyonce’s debut country music album. The show marked the first time Beyonce performed songs from “Cowboy Carter” live, per Billboard.
More than 30 million people tuned in for that game, making it a record-breaking day for both Netflix and the NFL, according to NFL.com.
But now, a more behind-the-scenes moment from Malone is gaining attention.
Post Malone leaves $20,000 tip at Houston bar
On Christmas Eve — the night before his appearance in Beyonce’s halftime show — Malone left a $20,000 tip for a single mom and bartender working at the Houston bar The Railyard, Music Mayhem magazine reported.
The kind act came as Renee Brown was lamenting being away from her 9-year-old daughter for the holidays.
“The day started off super slow, and I was just taking it as it was, trying to be in a good mood for others while dealing with not being able to spend Christmas Eve with my daughter,” she told Music Mayhem. “We usually bake cookies and watch Christmas movies, and this was the first time I wasn’t able to do that.”
During Brown’s shift, Malone showed up with some of his friends, including rising country music star Shaboozey. Brown said she did her best to make sure the artist was comfortable and could still “feel a sense of normalcy” — even though everyone at the bar was aware of his presence, per Music Mayhem.
When closing time on Christmas morning came, Malone asked for his check, only to learn that his friends and bar regulars had bought his drinks, Brown told Music Mayhem. The singer insisted Brown charge him for something so he could leave her a tip. Near the end of her shift, as she started entering in all of her tips, she was shocked to see Malone had left her $20,000.
She said she was emotional as she thanked him, telling him how much it all meant to her.
“I work two jobs and home school my daughter. I’m constantly exhausted. We’ve been without a car for two years, and recently moved after losing everything and starting over from scratch in August of 2024,” she told Music Mayhem.
“Going into work Christmas Eve, I was so sad I had to leave my baby girl to go to work,” she shared on Instagram, per Rolling Stone. “Oblivious that God would send me a Christmas miracle. This is hands down the most humble, personable celebrity I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He changed my life.”

Post Malone heading to the Grammys, launching a tour
Malone is up for a whopping seven Grammys at the awards ceremony on Feb. 2 — including for his debut country album “F-1 Trillion”; his collaboration with Taylor Swift on the song “Fortnight” — which has been nominated for song of the year; his duet with Morgan Wallen on “I Had Some Help”; and his performance of “Levii’s Jeans” with Beyonce.
The artist also recently announced his first stadium tour, which will begin in Salt Lake City on April 29, as the Deseret News previously reported. The show at Rice-Eccles Stadium will feature a mix of the singer’s biggest hits, fan favorites and songs from “F-1 Trillion,” according to a news release shared with the Deseret News.
The Utah show — which will also feature country music star Jelly Roll and singer-songwriter Sierra Ferrell — will be Malone’s second concert in the state in less than a year.
Last fall, the singer kicked off his “F-1 Trillion” tour at West Valley City’s Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater — and he didn’t hold back when it came to sharing his love for the Beehive State.
“Moving here to this amazing state was one of the best things I’ve done in my life, besides have a baby girl,” Malone told his cheering fans, according to a video shared by Salt Lake-based country radio station The Bull on TikTok. “I moved to L.A. when I was a kid, and I was like, ‘Hey this is not kind of where I want to be.’ So I did a show here right on the Salt Flats, and I was like, ‘This place rocks.’ ... Like a week later we bought a house here. I gotta say, Utah is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, and I’m so grateful and so honored to be a resident here, ladies and gentlemen.”
