Post Malone made the most of a busy weekend in Utah, making an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival and stopping by a Pizza Hut near his Cottonwood Heights home, where he gave an employee the memory of a lifetime.
Post Malone drops by Pizza Hut — and leaves a big tip
The morning after celebrating the premiere of “It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley,” Post Malone — wearing the Texas Rangers jacket and white cowboy hat he donned at Sundance — showed up at the Pizza Hut in Cottonwood Heights. Malone lives in Cottonwood Heights and has previously called the city “the most amazing place ever.”
Much to the surprise of the manager, Malone showed up to the Pizza Hut at 9:30 in the morning — 30 minutes before it was scheduled to open, Music Mayhem magazine reported.
“He came in before the store was opening, and I opened the store early for him because he’s a rockstar,” Kolby Aguila, the 20-year-old manager, told Music Mayhem. “I was starstruck; it was so unbelievable.”
Aguila said Malone’s order included three medium pan cheese pizzas and 24 spicy chicken wings. While the order was being prepared, the singer chatted and took pictures with him. But the biggest surprise came near the end of the visit, when Malone left Aguila a $1,200 tip. Aguila ended up sharing a portion of that tip with his co-worker, who came in for work right before Malone left, per KSL.
“I was almost in tears. I was so happy, and it was just so insane,” Aguila told Music Mayhem. “It will help me out with bills that I need to pay, it helps out so much!”
The kind act comes about a month after the singer left another generous tip at a bar in Houston. On Christmas Eve, the day before his appearance in Beyonce’s halftime show for the Houston Texans/Baltimore Ravens game, Malone left a $20,000 tip for a single mom and bartender working at the Houston bar The Railyard, as the Deseret News reported.
Post Malone attends the Sundance Film Festival
Post Malone attended the opening weekend of the Sundance Film Festival, where he celebrated the world premiere of the documentary “It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley.” IndieWire shared a picture of Malone with Amy Berg, the Oscar-nominated director behind the film that explores the life and career of the late singer.
“I was trying to understand and articulate why I love him so much, and it’s not easy to explain, there just aren’t words to explain Jeff Buckley,” Berg said just minutes before the film’s premiere at the festival.
Berg said she spent a total of 15 years on the film — 10 years trying to get rights to film, which involved developing a relationship with Buckley’s mother, Mary Guibert, and five years putting the story together once she got that approval in 2019.
The director added that the film is a love story to Buckley, told “through the people he loved.” That included singer Ben Harper, who attended the premiere and performed a rendition of “Hallelujah” in honor of Buckley following the screening.
“Jeff is a hero of mine, and Amy is a hero of mine cinematically,” Harper told the Deseret News. “There was no distance far enough to keep me from being here.”
Post Malone at the 2025 Grammys
This coming weekend will be another busy one for Malone. On Sunday, the singer is attending the Grammys, where he is up for eight awards that celebrate his country album, “F-1 Trillion,” and his collaborations with Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Morgan Wallen.

Post Malone stadium tour
In late April, the singer will embark on a stadium tour — his career first.
The tour kicks off at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, and will feature a mix of his biggest hits, fan favorites and songs from “F-1 Trillion.” The tour will also feature sets from singer-songwriter Sierra Ferrell and country star Jelly Roll.
The Utah show will mark Malone’s second concert in Utah in less than a year. Last fall, the singer kicked off his “F-1 Trillion” tour at West Valley City’s Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre — and he didn’t hold back when it came to sharing his love for the Beehive State.
“Moving here to this amazing state was one of the best things I’ve done in my life, besides have a baby girl,” Malone told his cheering fans, according to a video shared by Salt Lake-based country radio station The Bull on TikTok.
“I moved to L.A. when I was a kid, and I was like, ‘Hey this is not kind of where I want to be,’” he continued. “So I did a show here right on the Salt Flats, and I was like, ‘This place rocks.’ ... Like a week later we bought a house here. I gotta say, Utah is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, and I’m so grateful and so honored to be a resident here, ladies and gentlemen.”
