“The Chosen” Season 5 has made its debut in theaters and on Amazon’s Prime Video — next, it’s coming to “The Chosen” app.
All eight episodes of the biblical drama’s fifth season will be available to stream for free on the show’s official app starting Sunday, Sept. 28.
The app, which is available to download from Google Play and Apple’s App Store, already features seasons 1-4 of “The Chosen,” as well as additional behind-the-scenes content from the show.
Season 5 of “The Chosen” debuted in theaters in March, where it raked in $42.4 million at the box office, boosting the franchise as a whole past the $100 million mark, as the Deseret News previously reported.
After its theatrical release, it premiered on Prime Video beginning in June, jumping to the No. 1 series on the platform during the first week of its release, per the Deseret News.
The fifth season is now coming to the app for free as it finishes a 90-day exclusivity window with Prime Video, which was part of an agreement between Amazon Studios and 5&2 Studios, as “The Chosen” creator Dallas Jenkins explained earlier this year.
“In order for us to be able to give this show (for) free around the world ... Season 5 will only be available (exclusively) on Prime for a period of time,” Jenkins said during a livestream in June, the Deseret News reported.
“In order to keep it free, like I’ve promised, that requires some sacrifices on our part,” he added. “And because we have made it free, people around the world in literally every country in the world have been able to enjoy this show and be impacted by this show.”
Season 6 of “The Chosen” has already begun filming and is expected to be released on Prime Video in late 2026, though official dates have not yet been announced, per the Deseret News. The season’s finale is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 12, 2027.
