Benson Boone won’t be performing in Utah this year after all.
Yours Always music festival in Salt Lake City canceled
A new music festival in Salt Lake City that was going to bring in major headliners like Utah resident Boone and rising pop star Sombr has quietly disappeared, outlets including Rolling Stone magazine and Billboard have reported.
The inaugural Yours Always music festival was scheduled for Oct. 2–3 at the Utah State Fairpark — the same venue that hosts the country music festival Redwest and drew roughly 90,000 people for the Kilby Block Party earlier this year.
But now, some fans have posted online about receiving ticket refunds. The festival’s website and social media also no longer work.
An X account dedicated to updates about Joshua Bassett, who rose to fame for his role as Ricky Bowen in the Disney+ series “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” posted a screenshot of what appears to be an email from the festival that said it had been canceled “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
Bassett was scheduled to perform at the festival on Oct. 2, along with Boone and “Until I Found You” singer Stephen Sanchez, among others.
The Deseret News has reached out to Utah State Fairpark for comment.

For Boone fans in Utah, the Yours Always music festival offered a chance to see the pop singer in Salt Lake City after it was excluded from his “Wanted Man” tour, the Deseret News previously reported.
Boone’s performance at the festival would’ve come a year after he played three sold-out shows at the Delta Center.
“This is the only city we’re playing multiple nights in a row,” Boone told his cheering Salt Lake City crowd with a sense of awe and gratitude on his first night last October. “We’re playing three — you guys sold out three! Come on, that’s ridiculous! I love you guys, thank you so much.”
Now, although Boone’s website still includes the Oct. 2 Salt Lake date, the North American leg of his tour will likely conclude in New York on Sep. 10 before he heads to Asia and Australia for shows that extend through November, per Boone’s website.
