Comedian Nate Bargatze is coming to BYU-Idaho.
Known for his clean comedy and observational style, Bargatze is slated to bring his “Big Dumb Eyes Goes to College” tour to the BYU-Idaho Center in Rexburg, Idaho, in October.
“Nate is one of the most respected comedians in the industry,” BYUI Live! entertainment promoter Tanner Christensen said. “His unique style of clean comedy makes him a perfect fit for our audience. Our students are going to love him.”
Bargatze’s “Big Dumb Eyes” world tour sold more than 677,000 tickets across 76 shows. Following its success, the tour was extended in 2026 with 62 more stops.
By 2025, Bargatze had become one of comedy’s most commercially successful acts, with his tours grossing $77.5 million and ticket sales nearly 50% higher than those of Sebastian Maniscalco, the country’s second-highest-selling comedian.
In 2024, he staged the year’s highest-grossing comedy show, outperforming comedy juggernauts like Jerry Seinfeld and Adam Sandler, per Billboard. He has since hosted “Saturday Night Live” twice and led the Emmy Awards ceremony in 2025.
Bargatze’s “Big Dumb Eyes” tour was especially popular in Utah. In December, the three-time Emmy nominee sold out four back-to-back shows at the Delta Center, drawing more than 56,500 fans and setting a new record for the most-attended show in the area.
He credits his Christian upbringing with shaping his mega-successful approach to comedy.
“I come from a Christian family and Southern Christian, so I wasn’t allowed to watch anything,” he told Fox News in 2023. “And so growing up and only watching clean comedians, it was just how I was going to be. And it would feel forced if I was not.”
Tickets for Bargatze’s stop at BYU-Idaho will be available on presale beginning Thursday for BYU-Idaho students, employees, and other eligible groups. Public ticket sales open on Friday at 10 a.m. MDT.
