David Archuleta has a new gift for fans ahead of this holiday season.
The singer and “American Idol” runner-up, who grew up in Murray, Utah, shared on Tuesday that he has a new album on the way — and it will be full of Christmas cheer.
“Warm Me Up,” which will feature holiday classics as well as new music, will be released Oct. 30.
“This album has so much heart in it,” Archuleta wrote on Instagram. “A little nostalgia, a lot of warmth, and some new songs I’ve been really excited for you to hear.”
The new album will come just before Archuleta begins his “Warm Me Up” tour, which kicks off at the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City on Nov. 28 and closes out in Modesto, California, on Dec. 20.
Archuleta shared a track list of seven songs that will be featured on the new album, including:
- “Warm Me Up”
- “Let It Snow”
- “Merry Christmas, Baby”
- “Santa’s On His Way Tonight”
- “Nochebuena”
- “Grown-Up Christmas List”
- “Happy Christmas”
The singer, who first came to national attention at 17 years old by reaching second place on “American Idol” in 2008, is no stranger to Christmas music. He has two previous holiday albums, “Christmas from the Heart” (2009) and “Winter in the Air” (2018), as well as the holiday EP “My Only Wish” that he released last year.
“The most meaningful to me are some of the most common Christmas songs we hear, maybe because of the frequency of hearing them,” Archuleta told the Deseret News in 2020. “It kind of puts me in awe that some of the most famous Christmas songs are so simple but so meaningful in their messages.”
