A new edition of the God Bless the USA Bible celebrates former President Donald Trump’s return to the White House and his second inauguration.

The Inauguration Day Edition Bible, which became available Monday, is embossed with details of the celebration, including the date — Jan. 20, 2025.

Like other God Bless the USA Bibles, the new book includes not just the Old and New Testaments, but also copies of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

“2025 is destined to be an amazing year, with Donald J. Trump returning to office and bringing faith back to the forefront of America,” proclaims an ad for the new Bible.

God Bless the USA Bibles

Lee Greenwood, a country singer whose most famous song, “God Bless the USA,” inspired the God Bless the USA Bibles, has promoted the new product on X multiple times since Monday.

In July, he spoke with the Deseret News about his passion for the God Bless the USA brand, arguing that the patriotic Bibles were helping people embrace God.

“We are bringing people to faith,” he said.

Others, including some biblical scholars, have been less supportive of the project.

When the God Bless the USA Bible project was first announced in 2021, the backlash was so strong that it forced a product overhaul.

“An initial version featuring the New International Version translation was canceled after a number of authors published by Zondervan, which also publishes the NIV, objected. The Bible was then resurrected when the marketing company switched to the King James version, which is in the public domain,” Religion News Service reported.

Lee Greenwood and Trump

After that initial hiccup, the God Bless the USA Bible has become an enduring brand, in part because it gained the support of Trump earlier this year.

While on the campaign trail seeking reelection, Trump formally endorsed the original God Bless the USA Bible, and a clip of his comments about it appear in the new ad.

“I’m proud to endorse and encourage you to get this Bible. We must make America pray again,” Trump says in the video clip.

During his interview with the Deseret News this summer, Greenwood spoke about the endorsement, calling it proof of Trump’s Christian faith.

“I’m quite sure that he wouldn’t have made his video … promoting the God Bless the USA Bible, acknowledging that he believes in God, acknowledging that he has faith and that we should have faith in the country — I don’t believe in my heart that he would have ever stepped out and done that, unless he truly believes it,” Greenwood said.
