Exterior renderings of Austria’s first-ever Latter-day Saint temple and one of Mexico’s 27 were released Monday by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Vienna Austria Temple, to be the very first Latter-day Saint temple in Austria, will be located on a 0.8-acre site at Silbergasse 2 in Vienna, Austria.

Plans for the temple, which will help serve the Central European country’s nearly 4,700 Latter-day Saints, call for a multistory temple of approximately 15,300 square feet.

The Vienna temple was first announced in April 2021 general conference by the late church President Russell M. Nelson, who at the time emphasized the importance of temple covenants.

“Keep your temple covenants and blessings foremost in your minds and hearts,” President Nelson said in April 2021 general conference. “Stay true to the covenants you have made.”

The Culiacán Mexico Temple is planned to be built on a 5-acre site located off of Avenida Milenium in the Colonia Country Tres Ríos, between the cross streets of Miguel Tamayo Espinoza de los Monteros and Boulevard José María Figueroa Díaz.

Plans for the temple site call for a single-story temple structure of approximately 10,000 square feet, with an adjacent patron housing building.

The Culiacán temple was first announced by President Nelson in October 2021 general conference and will help serve Mexico’s more than 1.5 million Latter-day Saints as one of the country’s 27 announced temples.

“Please make time for the Lord in his holy house,” President Nelson said in October 2021 general conference. “Nothing will strengthen your spiritual foundation like temple service and temple worship.”

During his more than seven-year tenure as prophet, President Nelson announced 14 Latter-day Saint temples for Mexico.

Of the total 200 temples worldwide he announced during his ministry, 29 were the first announced for their respective nations or territories, and seven were the first announced for their U.S. states.
