Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., listens as Vice President Mike Pence answers a question during the vice presidential debate Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, at Kingsbury Hall on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Based on the presidential candidates’ health, age and debate performances, neither would make a good president. A vice presidential nominee could be elected as president with each of us making a simple write-in vote. This would not hurt our party’s chances of winning or losing the election. It would also let our party leaders know what kind of person we want and need for president.

I am campaigning for every U.S. citizen to switch their vote and elect a vice presidential nominee for president. After seeing the debates, it is clear that the vice presidential nominees, Vice President Mike Pence or Sen. Kamala Harris, would be the better United States president.
