I would like to thank the Deseret News for publishing the articles by Rev. Theresa Dear (“Black America can’t breathe,” May 30) and reporter Jasen Lee (“Deseret News reporter and his wife explore the perils of being black in America,” May 29). They opened my eyes and my soul, giving me a better understanding of what it is like to be black in America and in Utah. They gave me a change of heart. I believe it will help me be a more kind and caring person, better seeing all people as God’s children.
