Prince George, heir to the British throne and first child of Prince William and Princess Catherine, is officially a teenager.
The prince’s 13th birthday is on July 22. As they do each year, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted a new birthday portrait of George for this birthday. The photo was taken by Matt Porteous at Kensington Palace after last month’s Trooping the Colour ceremony.
Earlier this year, similar photos were posted to celebrate Prince Louis’ eighth birthday in April and Princess Charlotte’s 11th birthday in May.
There was also a birthday video for George posted by the prince’s parents:

George’s most recent public outing was a trip to the Wimbledon men’s final on July 12 with his mom, per People. It was one of just a handful of public outings the young prince takes during the year. He was also seen at the Trooping the Colour ceremony this summer.
He is currently on summer vacation with his family.
After his father William, George is next in line for the British throne. In the line of succession, he is followed by his sister Charlotte and his brother Louis, per USA Today. The three siblings represent the next generation of royals along with Prince Harry and Meghan’s two children, 7-year-old Prince Archie and 5-year-old Princess Lilibet.
This September, George will begin attending the prestigious Eton College in Berkshire. Both William and Harry attended the boarding school, per USA Today.
