SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Valley University’s UCCU Ballpark has been upgraded from its natural grass and dirt field to a new turf playing surface, thanks to a donation from doTerra.
The new 139,732-square-foot state-of-the-art playing surface, which features FieldTurf’s DoublePlay Series, was installed in just over 50 days and completed on March 12. It will be known as doTerra Field at UCCU Ballpark. It replaces the traditional field that was in place since 2005.
“The turf looks great and will be a wonderful asset for our program,” head UVU baseball coach Eric Madsen said in a statement. “This top-notch playing surface will not only allow us to schedule home games earlier than we have in the past, but it will also give us the opportunity to practice here at UCCU Ballpark in the winter months. The new field will greatly benefit our team and we are very happy with the result.”
