The BYU football program has had one longtime commit for its 2022 class in American Fork linebacker Noah Moeaki, and it added the second on Monday, as Alta safety Maika Kaufusi announced his pledge to the program on social media.

Kaufusi is very familiar with the Cougars, as he is the younger brother of recent graduate Isaiah and current player Jackson, adding to a long line of Kaufusis who have suited up for BYU, assuming he signs next year.

Maika Kaufusi is listed at 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds. According to the Deseret News statistical database, he tallied eight tackles for Alta in 2020 and also caught seven passes for 135 yards with a touchdown.

He received a scholarship offer from the Cougars all the way back in the summer of 2019. According to 247 Sports, that is the lone offer he has received, although he has garnered interest from Cal, Colorado, Utah State and Yale.
