On the morning of Sept. 11, LaVell Edwards Stadium will play host to an event that is sure to be far more somber than the football games that happen there.

Beginning at 8 a.m., a stair climb will take place inside the stadium to remember those whose lives were lost in the terrorist attacks on that date 20 years ago, particularly the first responders at the World Trade Center towers, which each consisted of 110 floors and 2,071 steps.

“This powerful morning will reconnect you to the kindness, strength and bravery exhibited on that dark day,” the event announcement says. “Together we vow to ‘Never Forget.’”
