The following 12 teams made the College Football Playoff.

They’re listed in order of their seeds, which were determined, in part, by their conference affiliation.

The four best conference champions (in the eyes of the CFP committee) received seed Nos. 1-4 and first-round byes.

How to watch the first round of the College Football Playoff

The first round of playoff games starts Friday night. All but the top four seeds — Oregon, Georgia, Boise State and Arizona State — will play this weekend.

Here is the schedule for the first round, where to watch each game and who the winner will play next, according to the NCAA:

  • Friday: Notre Dame vs. Indiana at 6 p.m. MST on ABC and ESPN
    • The winner of this game will play Georgia in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, 2025, at 6:45 p.m. MST on ESPN
  • Saturday: Penn State vs. SMU at 10 a.m. MST on TNT and Max
    • The winner of this game will play Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31 at 5:30 p.m. MST on ESPN
  • Saturday: Texas vs. Clemson at 2 p.m. MST on TNT and Max
    • The winner of this game will play Arizona State in the Peach Bowl on Jan. 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. MST on ESPN
  • Saturday: Ohio State vs. Tennessee at 6 p.m. MST on ABC and ESPN
    • The winner of this game will play Oregon in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2025, at 3 p.m. MST on ESPN

In November, ESPN announced that all 11 College Football Playoff games are available for distribution to movie theaters through its agreement with the Theater Sports Network.

Ticket prices to watch the games at the theater are determined by the individual theater.

Last year, 28 movie theater companies, including AMC and Regal, played the playoff games across 400 screens.

Correction: This article previously said that the College Football Playoff games would play at two Cinemark theaters in Utah. There are no Cinemark theaters in Utah playing the games.
