The BYU Cougars football program already has a couple of commitments for its 2026 recruiting class, but on Sunday it got two late ones from the Class of 2025, and both are defensive backs.

On Sunday afternoon, cornerback prospect Jordyn Criss out of Seguin High School in Arlington, Texas, announced his pledge to the Cougars on social media.

A little over an hour later, safety prospect Landan Goff out of Lone Peak High School near BYU’s campus did the same.

Listed by 247 Sports at 6-foot-2 and 165 pounds, Criss hasn’t been heavily recruited. According to 247, BYU is the only Power Four program to offer him a scholarship, which occurred last week.

He received an offer from Texas State last June and then several from non-Division I schools before getting offers from UTEP, BYU and Bowling Green last week.

As for Goff, he’s listed by 247 at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds. His lone FBS scholarship offer beside BYU is from Navy, and he also received offers from several FCS schools.

While most of the Cougars’ 2025 high school class signed in December, there will be another chance for prospects (including Criss and Goff) to do so in early February.
