If you didn’t like the Utah Wasatch as a replacement name for the Utah Hockey Club, don’t worry. Smith Entertainment Group announced on Thursday that due to fan feedback, that name is out of the running.
It will be replaced with the highly requested Utah Outlaws.
The team made it clear that the change came from an immense amount of fan feedback requesting that Outlaws be added as an option, and that it made the change out of respect for the fans’ opinions.
It is unclear whether there will be a new logo proposed for Outlaws or whether they’ll use the one that was previously proposed for both Utah Hockey Club and Utah Wasatch.
Fans will be able to vote at the team’s next three home games, which are:
- Friday, Jan. 31 vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets
- Sunday, Feb. 2 vs. the St. Louis Blues
- Tuesday, Feb. 4 vs. the Philadelphia Flyers
