Britain Covey is headed back to Philly.

The former Utes star has signed with the Eagles’ practice squad and was seen practicing with the team Thursday, according to several media reports.

Covey was released by the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week before clearing waivers and is now back with the organization where he spent the first three seasons of his NFL career.

From 2022-23, Covey served as Philadelphia’s primary punt returner and logged 62 returns for 725 yards, good for a 11.7 yard average. In 2023, he led the NFL in punt return yardage with 417.

Injuries ended Covey’s 2024 campaign about a month into the season, leaving him sidelined as the Eagles went on to win their second Super Bowl — though Covey did receive a Super Bowl ring for his pre-injury efforts.

Now, Covey will look to help Philadelphia defend its title and potentially offer a solution to the team’s current punt return uncertainty.

During Covey’s college career with the Utes, the Provo native totaled 4,241 all-purpose yards with 16 touchdowns.
