For the second time this offseason, BYU is adding a player who was previously committed to the Cougars back in high school.

Clemson forward Jake Wahlin is transferring to BYU, he announced Wednesday via social media.

During his lone campaign at Clemson this past year, the 6-foot-10 Wahlin averaged 5.3 points and 3.9 rebounds across 35 games while shooting 34% from 3-point range.

Wahlin played his first two collegiate seasons at Utah, appearing in 53 contests and scoring 6.3 points per game as a sophomore.

While Timpview High product originally committed to his hometown Cougars in 2020, he flipped to the Runnin’ Utes in 2023 following his Latter-day Saint mission.

But Wahlin is now set to conclude his college career where it nearly began, joining Collin Chandler as BYU’s pair of past commits who went elsewhere before ultimately landing in Provo.

Wahlin is BYU’s third transfer addition of the offseason thus far, along with Chandler and former Syracuse sharpshooter Tyler Betsey.

The Cougars have also retained their starting point guard Rob Wright III, who entered the portal but has since withdrawn his name to remain at BYU.
