The 6A girls golf regular season came to a close this week, as the focus shifts to Davis Park Golf Course next Monday and Tuesday for the 6A state tournament.
Farmington, Bingham and Corner Canyon won their respective region championships and will each be in the hunt for the 6A state title.
Lone Peak is the four-time defending state champs heading into next week’s state tournament. It had the lower Region 3 scoring average, but Corner Canyon won the region title as Region 3 uses a points system to determine its champ. Corner Canyon and Lone Peak each won four region events, but Corner Canyon won the last tournament this week which was worth more points.
Farmington had the best scoring average in 6A this year at 310.37, followed by Bingham (316.33), Lone Peak (317.) and Corner Canyon (322.25).
The low golfers in each 6A region were Farmington’s Aspen Taylor (70.79), Herriman’s Natalie McLean (73.25) and Lone Peak’s Saydie Wagner (73.33).
Wagner is the reigning 6A medalist as she’ll look to not only repeat an individual title, but lead Lone Peak to a fifth straight state title.
