BYU is another step closer to having a complete basketball schedule.

The Big 12 has released its scheduling matrix for the 2026-27 campaign, allowing the Cougars to know which schools they’ll play at home and/or on the road this season.

With the Big 12 sticking to a 18-game conference schedule, BYU will only face three opponents both in Provo or elsewhere: Arizona, TCU and Utah.

Dates for the Cougars’ conference matchups will be announced at a later time closer to the start of the regular season.

Here is the rest of BYU’s Big 12 scheduling matrix.

Highlights from BYU’s 2025-26 Big 12 matchups

The Cougars have three solid home-and-away opponents:

  • Arizona, fresh off of a Big 12 championship and Final Four berth.
  • TCU, a historic rival from BYU’s WAC and Mountain West Conference days that has made the NCAA tournament in four of the past five seasons.
  • Utah, BYU’s in-state and primary rival now looking to take a jump in Year 2 of the Alex Jensen era.

There’s a chance BYU could actually play Arizona three times in the regular season, as the Cougars and Wildcats are both participating in November’s Maui Invitational and could possibly meet in the tournament bracket there.

Blue blood Kansas will make its second-ever trip to the Marriott Center, while BYU will travel nearby to Arizona State and Colorado for the first time in two years and make the longer treks out to UCF, Iowa State and Houston as well for what are certain to be Quad 1 opportunities.

After playing Texas Tech twice this past season, the Cougars will match up with the Red Raiders just once this year in Lubbock, while hosting Baylor and Oklahoma State.

Kansas State and its new head coach Casey Alexander will come to Provo a game, with West Virginia and Cincinnati each making the cross-country journey to the Marriott Center as well.

With the NCAA now allowing teams to play 32 regular season games, BYU has room to add two more nonconference contests prior to the start of the 18-game Big 12 schedule, along with an addition preseason exhibition.

When the Cougars head to Hawaii over Thanksgiving week for the Maui Invitational, they’ll play three games against three of the following seven squads — Arizona, Colorado State, Clemson, Ole Miss, Providence, VCU and Washington.
