The 2026 high school girls soccer season gets underway next week for teams in Class 2A and throughout the state. To prepare fans for the upcoming season, the Deseret News has compiled capsules for every team in 2A. Every school was invited to participate and submit information.
The region rankings are based on coaches’ preseason projections.
There are three new girls soccer coaches in 2A this year: Dale Josse (Millard), Matt McNaughtan (San Juan) and TBD (APA West Valley).

Coach comment: Having our inaugural season behind us has made a tremendous difference for our program. Last year was about laying the foundation and establishing our culture, building relationships, and learning what it takes to compete every day. This season, our expectations are higher because our players now understand the standard we’ve set.
We’re returning a core group of experienced players who gained valuable minutes last year, and they’ve put in the work during the offseason. They’ve grown not only as soccer players but also as leaders, and that experience should help us be much more consistent.
Our goal is to compete every time we step on the field, continue developing our younger players, and put ourselves in a position to compete for a region title and make a deep postseason run. We know there will be challenges, but we’re excited about the direction this program is heading. The girls have embraced the process, and I believe this team has the talent, work ethic, and character to accomplish something special this season.
