Lone Peak Dominates Girls Race, Lehi Edges Davis in Boys at Border Wars
Lone Peak’s girls turned in one of its most impressive performances of the season Saturday at the Border Wars meet at Valley Regional Park in Taylorsville.
Lone Peak placed five runners in the top 18 as it scored 27 points to run away with the team title. Davis was second with 92 points.
The Knights were led by Maya Bybee, who finished first with a time of 18:05.67. Lone Peak’s other top five finishers were Hailey Atwater (18:26.75), Camille Shields (19:04.95), Paityn Rohatinsky (19:17.58) and Tatum Brewer (19:21.02).
Brighton junior Bridget Smit (18:19.55) and Emery senior Gentry Christiansen (18:30.61) ran second and fourth overall.
Davis senior Harrison Skousen won the boys individual title in 15:42.34, but Lehi’s pack running was the difference in a tight team race.
The Pioneers tallied 60 points to finish first, with Davis a close second with 62 points.
Lehi played four runners in the top 21 led by Owen McMullin (16:03.39). Olympus senior William Towers (15:49.52) and Lone Peak’s Caden Bybee (15:56.49) were second and third individually.

Mountain Ridge edges Skyline, Skyridge for team titles at Park City Invite AM
Mountain Ridge took home both team trophies Friday morning at the Park City Invite AM cross country meet at Quinn’s Junction Athletic Fields, winning tight battles on the 3-mile course.
Skyline junior Hallee Sullivan continued her great season with a 17:49.7 victory in the girls race, finishing more than 10 seconds ahead of Layton’s Eliza Thornley (18:00.6).
But Mountain Ridge’s depth won the day — the Sentinels placed five runners between sixth and 17th to score 59 points, edging Skyline (64) and Layton (67) in a three-team battle separated by just eight points. Skyridge (87) and Woods Cross (107) rounded out the top five.
Skyridge seniors Jack Grossen (15:27.1) and Landon Carter (15:30.2) went 1-2 in the boys race, but Mountain Ridge’s pack was tighter.
The Sentinels placed Ty Patterson third (15:39.4) and four more scorers between eighth and 15th to edge the Falcons 47–50. Layton (53) was right behind, making it another three-team contest at the top.

American Fork sweeps team titles in Park City PM race
American Fork controlled both races in the PM session of the Park city Invite Friday at Quinn’s Junction Athletic Fields, winning the girls title with 26 points and the boys with 32 points.
Cavemen senior Skye Jensen won the girls race in 18:10.7, and American Fork packed five scorers in the top nine to pull away from Timpanogos (46).
Farmington junior Ellie Dorius (18:28.1) and Timpanogos senior Anna Bliss (18:40.0) were second and third individually. West Field (102), Pleasant Grove (107) and Farmington (117) filled out the top five.
West Field junior Daxton Coombs won the boys individual title in 15:32.6, but American Fork’s depth was too much. The Cavemen placed Michael Jones (15:49.6) and Trey Nielsen (15:58.4) second and third, with five scorers in the top 13 to beat Farmington (48).
Timpanogos (94) was a distant third, followed by West Field (119) and Park City (132).
