There may be a world in which millions of Americans take the COVID-19 vaccine to help stop the spread of the novel coronavirus. So what will it feel like to take it? Some details and experiences recently leaked online.
What’s going on:
Five participants in two of the coronavirus vaccine trials recently shared their experiences after taking the shots with CNBC.
The participants felt:
- High fever
- Body aches
- Bad headaches
- Exhaustion
The participants — three from Moderna’s trial and two from Pfizer’s late-stage trial — said the symptoms were worth it, though, if it means they’re protecting themselves from the coronavirus.
The symptoms ended after about one day if not sooner, the participants told CNBC.

Earlier this week, reports suggested that Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine developed a strong immune response in older and younger adults — a positive sign since vaccines often don’t work well with older adults and the elderly, as I wrote about for Deseret.com.
Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson remain the four developers with late-stage human trials in play.
