Major grocery chains have started to implement limits again for customers as the coronavirus pandemic heads into the winter months, FOX Business reports.
What’s going on?
Stores are taking preventive steps to make sure there enough supplies for everything.
- Consider Kroger, which will add limits to bath tissue, paper towels, disinfecting wipes and hand soap starting this week.
- “To ensure all customers have access to what they need, we’ve proactively and temporarily set purchase limits to two per customer on certain products,” a Kroger spokesperson said in a statement to FOX Business.
In a similar move, Publix added limits to its paper towels and bath tissue, too.

The Wall Street Journal reported in September that grocers were stockpiling supplies ahead of the winter. In fact, some created “pandemic pallets” to deal with the holiday rush coming soon.
- “Supermarkets are stockpiling groceries and storing them early to prepare for the fall and winter months, when some health experts warn the country could see another widespread outbreak of virus cases and new restrictions,” according to The Wall Street Journal.
