The Fremont County, Idaho, prosecuting attorney asked two other prosecutors in the country for help investigate the death of Tammy Daybell before the Idaho attorney general decided to help, EastIdahoNews.com reports.
What happened:
- Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow Daybell are being investigated for conspiracy, attempted murder and/or murder in connection to the death of Tammy Daybell, the late wife of Chad Daybell, as I wrote for the Deseret News.
- Earlier this week, the Deputy Attorney General Colleen Zahn sent a letter after Fremont County Prosecuting Attorney Marcia Murdoch requested the attorney general look into the death of Tammy Daybell.
- The Idaho attorney general agreed to investigate the death of Tammy Daybell. The attorney general would offer assistance to the case without involving any local prosecutor, according to EastIdahoNews.com.
- Murdock wrote in a letter that if the Idaho attorney’s general didn’t help, parties could ask the U.S. Attorney’s Office for help, according to EastIdahoNews.com.
- “I will tell you that when I went to a meeting in Utah last month, an attorney from the Pocatello USA’s office was present and willing to assist,” Murdoch wrote. “I did want to at least give you this information so you were aware of it in considering your office’s ability to proceed forward with charges.”
