Lori Vallow Daybell and Chad Daybell have been indicted on first-degree murder charges in the deaths of Lori Daybell’s children — Tylee Ryan and J.J. Vallow — according to multiple reports. The couple was indicted by a grand jury in Rexburg, Idaho.

Chad Daybell was also charged with murder in connection with the death of his first wife, Tammy Daybell.

  • Lori and Chad Daybell were also charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit murder of the two children and Tammy Daybell, according to reports from Fox 13.
  • The decision came on the same day JJ Vallow would have turned 9 years old, according to the East Idaho News.

It’s unclear if prosecutors will pursue the death penalty against the Daybells, KBOI reports.

  • Prosecutors will make the decision within 60 days about whether or not to pursue the death penalty. Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell will appear in court on Wednesday to face those charges, according to KBOI.

Chad Daybell was previously charged with conspiracy to hide the remains of Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow back in June 2020, according to Deseret News. Chad and Lori Daybell have been at the center of a nationwide case that included the deaths of each of their former spouses, apocalyptic religious beliefs, discussions of evil spirits and even “zombies,” as the Deseret News reported.

The crimes have sparked national podcast and television productions, including episodes of “20/20” and “Dateline.”
