Tessica Brown — who made headlines early in 2021 after she put Gorilla Glue in her hair — is making a comeback with her own hair product line.

Wait, remind me why girl put Gorilla Glue in her hair?

So Tessica Brown made headlines in February 2021 when she ran out of hairspray and decided to apply something different to her hair. Unfortunately, it was Gorilla Glue, which led to a monthlong process of her trying to undo the damage done, as I wrote for the Deseret News.

  • Brown’s situation was so dire that she couldn’t remove the Gorilla Glue after “more than 15 washes, various treatments and a trip to the emergency room,” according to The New York Times.
  • Brown shared her situation on TikTok. The original video amassed more than 20 million views at the time.

TMZ and New York Post later reported that Brown had surgery resulting in a new hairstyle.

What is the girl up to now?

Brown announced on Instagram this week that she will be launching a pitch for a new $18 hair oil that stimulates growth. She said she had been working on the product for months.

  • “As y’all already know, about four months ago I ran out of hairspray and ended up using Gorilla Glue spray. Bad, bad idea,” Brown said in an Instagram video. “As a result of that, I ended up losing my hair and having scalp damage. But since then I have been working with professionals to create and formulate a hair growth oil.”

Per BuzzFeed News, the new oil uses black cumin seed oil and biotin. The product’s website suggests the oil will increase “blood flow to follicles promoting growth” and lessen the amount of “excessive shedding.”

  • “I needed this oil to, one, heal my scalp. I needed to grow my hair back, I needed to stimulate my hair follicles, and on top of that I needed everything to be all natural, and in this oil, it has just that,” Brown said, according to BuzzFeed News.

How can I buy the Gorilla Glue girl’s hair product?

Per USA Today, the product is available at tbforeverhair.com. Costs range from $14 to $18.
