GOLD HILL, Tooele County — A brush fire on Thursday afternoon burned two homes and an outbuilding in western Tooele County.

The fire started out only affecting vegetation, but burned into an area with houses on Main Street in Gold Hill, according to Bucky Whitehouse, emergency manager for Tooele County.

Two structures were “completely burned to the ground,” displacing one person, Whitehouse said. American Red Cross was en route to assist that person, he said.

No injuries were reported.

The Tooele County Fire Department, Wendover City Fire Department and Utah Division of Fire, Forestry and State Lands were among those who responded to the fire, Whitehouse said.
