SALT LAKE CITY — Agents investigating a child pornography case arrested a Cache County man previously convicted of sexually abusing a child after they reported finding hidden cameras in the man’s house.
Kurt Allen Jensen, 62, was booked into the Cache County Jail Wednesday for investigation of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation into Jensen began in August when the Utah attorney general’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force discovered suspected child pornography files being distributed over a peer-to-peer program.
“Approximately 50 files — images and videos — of child pornography were distributed,” according to a police affidavit.
On Wednesday, agents served a search warrant on Jensen’s residence.
“ICAC task force agents found several hidden cameras throughout the residence. These hidden cameras were specifically placed in bedrooms where children sleep,” the affidavit states.
Other cameras were found in a bathroom. Agents reviewed the SD cards which showed “Jensen setting the cameras up and/or placing them in the specific spots,” according to the affidavit.
The affidavit also notes that “Jensen is very knowledgeable about computers and went to great lengths to hide his identity over the P2P network and also hid several cameras throughout his home.”
In 1994, Jensen was convicted of sex abuse of a child, according to court records. He was also convicted of voyeurism in 2007, which charging documents say involved a child.
