RIVERTON — Impaired driving is suspected to be a factor in a crash that critically injured two people in Riverton Wednesday, according to police.

About 9:30 p.m., a car driven by a 35-year-old man ran a red light at the intersection of 12600 South and the Mountain View Corridor, and T-boned a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old woman, according to Riverton police.

The man was flown by medical helicopter to a local hospital in critical condition. A 30-year-old woman who was in the passenger seat was taken by ambulance to a hospital in critical condition. The 20-year-old woman in the other car was taken to a local hospital in fair condition, according to police.

Officers from Riverton, Herriman and South Jordan police responded to the crash.
