SALT LAKE CITY — A juvenile was arrested in February after confronting a student at West High School and firing a shot, according to Salt Lake City police.

No one was injured in the incident.

Salt Lake police on Monday confirmed the Feb. 13 incident. Sgt. Keith Horrocks said school was either near the end of the day or had just let out when a juvenile from Kearns confronted a West student outside on school property.

Horrocks said detectives have received different accounts from witnesses about whether a shot was purposely fired into the ground or in the direction of the student.

The juvenile who was arrested also “pulled a gun” on the same victim on Feb. 7 at the school, according to a search warrant affidavit. A search warrant was served to obtain surveillance video from the school, which captured both incidents, the affidavit states.
