Nearly 20 years after buying a 25-acre lot in Utah for $1 million, “Grey’s Anatomy” star Katherine Heigl has put her home on the market — for $10.6 million, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Since buying the lot in Oakley, which is about 15 miles outside of Park City, Heigl and her husband, musician Josh Kelley, have customized the vast property to meet their needs — including building an art studio and a listening shack.
Heigl bought the property in 2007 — the same year she and Kelley married in Park City. She had initially fallen in love with the Utah mountains while filming the Disney Channel movie “Wish Upon a Star” as a teenager, per The Wall Street Journal.
The spot was supposed to be more of a vacation space away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. But Heigl started spending more and more time there, and eventually, her husband made it his primary residence on his driver’s license, she previously said during an interview on “Today with Hoda & Jenna.”
The couple made Utah their full-time home in 2012 and have raised their three children there, per The Wall Street Journal.
“I think my children sometimes wish they were in more of a hubbub-y exciting city,” the “Firefly Lane” star previously said on “Today with Hoda & Jenna.” “But I said to them, ‘I understand that you are sacrificing that in some ways but I still think it was the right choice for us as a family because I am more centered and aware of what’s going on in your life.’
“‘It’s a smaller town, I know who your friends are, I know who you are spending time with, I know what’s up with school,’” she continued. “It’s just easier to keep my finger on the pulse.”

Now, though, Heigl has listed the 8,000-square-foot stone-and-wood mountain home for sale. Special features on the Zillow listing include five bedrooms, a brand new kitchen and expansive terraces.
“It’s been very hard to decide to let it go. I’m a real sort-of homebody and creature of habit,” Heigl told WSJ, adding that she and Kelley have realized that “when they’re all gone — all slaying their own dragons and living their lives — it’s just you and me in this giant house on this giant land.”
Is Katherine Heigl leaving Utah?
The listing doesn’t mean Heigl is leaving Utah behind.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the family is downsizing to a nearby blue Victorian farmhouse, which they recently purchased as a restoration project. Heigl has opened up on social media about the project.
“We bought a beautiful old Victorian farmhouse in our neck of the woods, in our beloved, adopted town in the mountains of Utah,” Heigl said in a video shared to Facebook this past January. “It was sort of a whim. ... The moment I walked in, I just knew. ... It had such a beautiful spirit to it. It definitely reminded me of my childhood and how I grew up. ... It’s going to need a lot of love, a lot of work, but I have big, big plans.”
