A 28-year-old man died Monday afternoon after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a commercial box van in Lehi, police confirmed.

Just after 1 p.m., the van was northbound on 300 East in Lehi when the driver tried to make a left turn onto Pioneer Crossing. That’s when Lehi police say the driver “failed to yield to the motorcyclist” eastbound on Pioneer Crossing.

The motorcyclist struck the back end of the van, causing him to crash, Lehi police said. He was transported to a local hospital, where officers say he was later pronounced dead.

Police said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. His name has not been released.
