What weather to expect on Halloween night 2023 in Utah

For Halloween day in Utah, The Weather Channel forecasts a high of 55 degrees Fahrenheit with some colder wind. Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-30s after the sun sets at 6:24 p.m.

TikTok creator @Kamik.n posted a video that Utahns might be able to relate to this Halloween — the heartbreak of having to wear a jacket over a Halloween costume.

On the bright side, the National Weather Service for Salt Lake City doesn’t expect there to be rain on Halloween in Utah. Its forecasters think the weather will stay relatively clear.

The Weather Channel says the moon will be in its waning gibbous phase, making the night darker than if it was a full or half moon — perfect for a spooky Halloween night.

The last time it rained or snowed in Salt Lake City on Halloween was in 2016, per The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

When was the big Halloween snowstorm?

In 1991, a blizzard hit Wisconsin and Minnesota on Halloween, covering some places with more than 20 inches of snow, per the National Weather Service. It snowed for three days, starting with rain during prime trick-or-treating hours.
