Troy Donahue says his problems with alcohol and drugs got so bad that at one point he was living in New York's Central Park and once sold his last piece of furniture so he could buy cocaine. "Until 7 1/2 years ago, I never appeared before an audience or a camera sober," Donahue, 52, said at a recent substance abuse seminar in Baltimore. "I played a faded movie star to whoever would let me sleep on their floor." The one-time golden boy star of "Surfside Six" says he started drinking when he was in the seventh grade and a feeling of inadequacy about his acting career compounded his problem. "I felt I didn't deserve any of that (acclaim), that someone was going to find me out and they were all going to stand up and point at me."
