The University of Pittsburgh and Rutgers football teams could close their 1989 seasons in Ireland.

Pitt and Rutgers officials have agreed in principle to play Dec. 2 in the second annual Emerald Isle Classic in Dublin. As part of the deal they consented to a probable return engagement in Landsdowne Road Stadium during the 1990s.
