Weber State College's 1989 football schedule will include six home games, three of them in September against Big Sky Conference opponents, school officials said Thursday.
New Wildcat Coach Dave Arslanian gets his collegiate head coaching baptism with a Sept. 9 contest against Nevada-Las Vegas of the Big West Conference at Las Vegas' Silver Bowl.After the UNLV game, the Wildcats return home for three straight home contests against Big Sky schools, starting with Northern Arizona on Sept. 16, followed by two-time defending Big Sky champion, Idaho, on Sept. 23 and finally Boise State on September 30.
Weber State's first league contest on the road is at Montana Oct. 7. The only home game in the month of October is against in-state rival Southern Utah State on Saturday the 14th. Two more conference games follow, at Nevada-Reno, Oct. 21, and Montana State, Oct. 28. The 1989 Homecoming game is against Eastern Washington University on Saturday, November 4.
Weber State closes out its home game schedule with a non-league encounter with Southwest State University from Marshall, Minn., on Nov. 11. The regular season finale comes against arch-rival Idaho State, Saturday, Nov. 18, in Pocatello.
