TRAPS MATHEMATICALLY ELIMINATED

For the second consecutive season the Salt Lake Trappers will be going home instead of to the Pioneer League playoffs.

The Pocatello Giants mathematically eliminated the Trappers with a 6-5, 10-inning win Thursday night. Meanwhile, Butte, the Southern Division leader, split a pair of games with Idaho Falls to help eliminate Salt Lake.Salt Lake won three straight league titles prior to last year.

Travis Tarchione led the Trappers with three hits and two RBI while Joe Beaulac added a pair of RBI. Beaulac contributed his fourth homer of the season.

Pocatello got three hits from outfielder Craig Cala. Rob Taylor improved to 3-2 with the victory.
