A son and two grandsons of the late Avard Fairbanks, famed Utah sculptor, have been spending some time in Fairview repairing the plaster replica of Fairbank's bronze statue, "Restoration of the Melchizedek Priesthood."

When the replica has been repaired, it will be placed in the Fairview Museum to join other replicas that have been donated by the Fairbanks family. The "Restoration of the Melchizedek Priesthood" replica was damaged while in storage in Salt Lake City. The repair is done by dipping burlap strips into wet casting plaster and then placing them on the damaged areas.

The Fairview Museum recently acquired the old Fairview Junior High School building. A part of the building has been remodeled for display purposes and this replica as well as others will appear in the addition to the museum.

The addition will also contain a mastodon panorama that will have as its centerpiece a replica of the mastodon skeleton found more than a year ago in the Huntington Reservoir area.

Eugene Fairbanks of Bellingham, Wash., and his nephews, James and Jonathan Fairbanks, have been doing the repair work.

Most Fairview Museum displays are housed in the old Fairview Elementary School, located on the same block as the recently acquired junior high building.
