The Liberal Party governing Quebec retained its majority over the separatist Parti Quebecois.

Results of Monday's vote in the largest and second most populous Canadian province showed the Liberals led by Premier Robert Bourassa with 92 seats in the 125-seat provincial assembly.The Parti Quebecois won 29 seats, a gain of six, and a new Equality Party captured four in traditional Liberal strongholds.
