A member of 2 Live Crew pleaded guilty to obscenity and was fined $1,000 for simulating sex during a show by the rap group in 1987.

The plea, entered Monday by a lawyer for Mark "Brother Marquis" Ross, came two days after he and two other members of the group were acquitted in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., of obscenity for an adults-only show at a nightclub in June.In addition to fining Ross, State District Judge Byron Hebert placed him on six months' unsupervised probation.

District Attorney Nathan Stansbury said Ross simulated sex on stage with a woman from the audience.
