Two candidates, one who previously announced he would run, filed for a county commission seat this week in Davis County.

Blake Chard, Layton, who announced in February his intention to run, and Larry Livingston, Clearfield, filed Wednesday for the same seat on the county commission. The two candidates filed for commission seat B, now occupied by Dub Lawrence. Chard is a Republican and Livingston is a member of the Libertarian Party.

Chard said his intent is to run against Lawrence and filed for the seat he now holds but Lawrence earlier this week filed for commission seat A, now held by commission chairman Bill Peters.

Former Kaysville Mayor Gerald Purdy has filed for commission seat B and county auditor Ruth Kennington said Wednesday night at a political rally that she intends to file for seat B also.
