Allan Bristow said Saturday he has accepted an offer to join the Charlotte Hornets at the end of this season as their vice president of basketball operations.

Peter Bynoe, Denver Nuggets managing general partner, said he gave permission earlier in the week after Hornets owner George Shinn requested it.Bristow, finishing his sixth season as assistant to coach Doug Moe, joined the NBA after averaging 23 points per game at Virginia Tech. He was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 1973 NBA draft and played in Philadelphia for two seasons before being signed as a free agent with San Antonio in 1975.

Bristow spent four years with the Spurs, two with Utah and two more at Dallas before deciding to retire in 1983.
