Tamron Smith scored on a 5-yard run with 5:42 remaining Saturday, capping a comeback that gave Youngstown State a 25-17 victory over Marshall for the NCAA Division I-AA championship.

Marshall led 17-6 entering the final period, but Youngstown rallied for three touchdowns to win the title. The Penguins scored on a 33-yard pass from Ray Isaac to Herb Williams, a 3-yard run by Ryan Wood with 7:09 remaining and Smith's clinching run, which capped a three-play, 14-yard drive.Youngstown led 3-0 at halftime, but Marshall scored 17 points in the third quarter on a pair of touchdown passes by Michael Payton and a 42-yard field goal by Dewey Klein.

Isaac completed 9 of 15 passes for 198 yards and one touchdown, while Payton completed 30 of 43 passes for 363 yards.
