Salt Lake-based broadcast and media communications company Bonneville International Corp. announced it will reorganize its operating divisions into three groups.

The three are Bonneville Major Market Radio Group, which will include radio stations in California, Arizona, Texas, Illinois and New York; Bonneville Intermountain Group, which will include the company's Utah divisions; and KIRO Inc., which will oversee KIRO-TV in Seattle as well as other holdings in Seattle and Kansas City. The reorganization is intended to put the company "in a better position to respond to expected changes in the broadcast industry," said Rodney H. Brady, president and chief executive officer, who added that the reorganization is in response to recent company growth.

"The new structure more nearly reflects my personal management style and is a comfortable combination of functional and geographic alignment," said Brady.

Bonneville spokesman Don Gale said the television market is becoming more crowded with cable TV, video cassettes and independent channels competing for viewers, while the number of formats in the radio market seems to be shrinking.

"Something's changing there, and it's changing quite rapidly," Gale said. "We're not sure where it's going to wind up, and we need to be prepared."

Under the reorganization, Jack Adamson, senior vice president, will receive the additional title of president of the Bonneville Major Market Radio Group.

Bruce T. Reese will be named executive vice president of the corporation and president of Bonneville Intermountain Group.
