It didn't take long for Roger Craig to move into the Raiders' starting lineup. But it took an injury to get him there.

Craig will start at tailback Sunday against the Broncos in his second game with Los Angeles because Marcus Allen damaged the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the season-opening 47-17 loss to the Oilers.Allen was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, meaning he'll miss at least four games. His spot on the roster was taken by running back Doug Lloyd, who was on the team's practice squad.

Craig signed with the Raiders in April as a Plan B free agent after eight seasons with San Francisco.
