Pat Blottiaux kicked two field goals as ninth-ranked Colorado overcame a cold drizzle and stubborn Missouri 6-0 in a mistake-filled Big Eight Conference opener Thursday night.
Colorado (5-0) extended its unbeaten streak to 23 games against Big Eight teams and also made it 12 straight wins on the road against conference opponents. Although the Buffaloes' first game at Missouri since the infamous fifth-down game of 1990 produced an eighth straight victory over the Tigers (1-4), it didn't come easily. The Buffaloes committed four turnovers and were far off their season average of 36 points. Colorado quarterback Kordell Stewart was intercepted twice, once in the end zone.
Despite the problems scoring, Stewart completed 24 of 45 passes for 335 yards and went the distance for the first time in three games.
