Waldemar Sorensen "Walt" Degn, 88, died Friday November 27, 1992 at a local nursing home of causes insident to age.

He was born September 23, 1904 in Aarhus, Denmark. He is the son of Niels Mortensen and Johanna Sorensen Degn. He married Martha Stringham, August 13, 1930 in the Salt lake LDS Temple; she died July 15, 1982. He came to Utah when he was one year old, he was raised and educated in Preston, Idaho and Logan, Utah. He had lived in Park City, Murray, Boise, Idaho, Butte, and Billings, Montana; returning to Ogden in 1951 where he lived until his death. He attended Utah State University. He was a member of the LDS Church. He was a member of the Ogden Elks Lodge, Rotary Club, the Ogden Chamber of Commerse, former director of the Ogden Golf and Country Club, Small Business Association and the Hillfield Officers Club. He had been a manager for the Skaggs Drug store.He is survived by one son and three daughters, Duane W. Degn, Escondido, Calif.; Helen Rae and Elizabeth Degn, both of Murray; and Judith Lamb-Lion, Brighton; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; also two brothers and three sisters, Victor Degn, Ogden; Otto Degn, Logan; Cecelia Larson, Las Vegas, Nevada; Ruby Grover, Brigham City; Vera Bench, Seattle, Wash. Preceded in death by two brothers and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 3 p.m. at the Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington. Friends may call at the mortuary, Monday, 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-2:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
